The Stiletto of the week after Christmas Sales!  Oh yeah its that time of year when everything is on clearance.  So no one got you those Prada pumps you really wanted and Santa forgot that you desperately needed a new clutch.  Well, here is your chance to fix all of those oversights.  Forget about stuffing stockings and decking the halls, stuff that shoe closet and decorate yourself!

The Croc of the week has to go to the Republican Primaries.  Since only a handful of states are actually voting on this field of candidates why must the whole country suffer through all of the press time dedicated to them.  How many small coffee shops doesIowahave any way? You can’t turn on a news broadcast without some reporter chatting with about the future ofAmericawith a guy who sits around in coffee shop all day.  Thank goodness Lifetime Network is back to showing Project Runway All Stars.  There’s a contest I can get behind.

The Stiletto of the week goes toKey West photographer and friend Rob O’Neal.  Rob’s beautiful images of life inKey Westand beyond have been featured in local Key West publications and newspapers across the country.  Unfortunately, Rob was badly injured in a scooter accident this week.  Our thoughts, well wishes, and best stilettos go out to Rob this week.  Hope you have a speedy and bacon filled recovery.   

The Croc of the week goes to vampires.  I am so tired of hearing about vampires this week!  First it was the whole gothic thing, then wizards and now it vampires with an occasional werewolf thrown in.  And let’s face it these are in even cool Interview with a Vampire vampires these are sad teenagers in love vampires.  Honestly, I am ready for the next fad…oh wait that is suppose to be Hunger Games, not sure I am ready for the ultimate survival trend just yet.

The Stiletto goes to Jessica Simpson and I am even throwing in a little baby stiletto too!  Jessica announced this week (after many photos implied she was) that she is having a baby.  Congrats Jessica on the little bundle of joy, if this baby is anything like your shoes I am going to love it!

The Croc is perhaps the last wedding gift Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries will be receiving and you can’t return this one!  After only 72 days the spotlight couple called it quits.  Good thing it lasted until after that E! Special aired.  After constant rumors and pictures surfaced of Kris without his wedding band it appears the dream is over.  A lot of couples struggle to keep a marriage together and they are certainly not the fastest celebrity divorce but when you have a 2 part wedding special you have to make it at least 6 months!  Although this does leave the option for a 2 part divorce special!

The Stiletto of the week belongs to baseball season!  This week the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers began playing the World Series.  There seems to be only a few hundred games each baseball season and more than a season it’s really is almost like a full year.  But this week there are only 7 games (if that many) will really count.  Don’t worry I am sure the NBA will resolve their strike soon enough and get in a couple hundred games too. 

The Croc of the week belongs to whoever buys the 14k gold laces now available for the low low price of $19,000.  As seen on the Today Show each set is handmade by Colombian workers and takes 120 hours to produce.  Of course the shoe laces are delivered with their own security and give new meaning to Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” song.  Great to know that during a recession some people are tying their cash in their feet

The Stiletto of the week goes to Target!  First they have the biggest fashion craze of the year their Missoni line selling out in record time making Target the most fashion forward place with a snack bar in no time.  And now First Lady Michelle Obama goes to Target in disguise to grab a few great deals and blend in among the everyday shoppers… okay given the whole high end Italian designer line thing maybe Target is not as everyday as it used to be.  Attention, Target shoppers you are about as chic as it gets this week!

The Croc of the week goes to Crystal Harris who briefly clung onto fame as the woman who left Hugh Hefner just days before their wedding earlier this year.  This weekCrystaltries to grab another 3 minutes of fame by auctioning off the $90,000 engagement ring that Hefner gave her.  Claiming she can not stand to look at the ringCrystalis doing the classy, low key thing and having it auctioned off by Christie’s Auction House in NYC.  The ring is expected to bring in between $20,000 to $30,000, that should help with the rent at her new place with live in boyfriend Jordan McGraw as in Dr. Phil’s son.  That’s gotta be an awesome family dinner!

The Stiletto of the week goes to Good Samaritans.   Did you get trapped under a burning car this week?  Swarmed by 60,000 bees?  Well if you answered yes to either of those questions you probably are thankful for innocent by standers willing to lift flaming cars or be stung numerous times by a swarm of angry bees.  Lets hear it for complete strangers helping each other out. 

The Croc of the week belongs to the strange headline producing Real Housewives of DC couple Tareq and Michaele Salahi.  This week Tareq reported his wife Michaele kidnapped, after pleading with the police and FBI to help find his wife it was discovered that Michaele had actually run off with Journey’s lead guitarist.  Turns out Michaele did not simply have an unhealthy love of Journey’s music; she was having a two year affair with them.  But don’t stop believing Tareq!

The Stiletto of the week belongs to sleeping late on Monday.  For those of us who face an annoying alarm clock every weekday it sure is nice avoid the jolt on a three day weekend.  So enjoy the extra snooze time and use your day off for little fashionable fun!    

The Croc of the week goes to GOP Presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann who earlier this week said thatVirginia’s earthquake and Hurricane Irene were a message from God to politicians.  Hey Michele you might want to be a little cautious about asking God for signs, you might not like his delivery.

The Stiletto of the week goes to all those going back to school.  Ah, yes for some summer is over. But for those of us without kids its means all those neighborhood kids that have been driving you crazy all summer will be contained… whoops I mean back in school for 6 hours a day.    

The Croc of the week belongs to tattooed Kat Von D and her equally tattooed ex-boyfriend Jesse James are back together.  Sure, he is a known cheater and even spills secrets about his ex-wife’s sex life to tabloids but since Kat has his picture tattooed on her it might be worth getting back together as opposed to trying to explain that tattoo to a new guy.  Good luck you crazy kids!

The Stiletto of the week goes to The Help both the book and the film.  It’s a little unusual to get excited about a story about racism but the book and film have everyone talking.  I loved the book and am hopeful that the movie is as good. 

The Croc of the week goes to the stock market.  Let’s face it the stock market has been like an emotional college freshman girl on a Saturday night.  One minute it was all happy dancing with her friends and the next it’s crying in the bathroom claiming nobody likes her!  Settle down Stock Market!  Just be cool and stop having these crazy swings and everyone will like you for who you are!

The Stiletto of the week belongs to professional football fans.  At long last an agreement has been reached ending the lockout and stopping the potential delay of the NFL season.  This is great news for fans, sports bar owners and people who like to wear professional sport jerseys while never actually playing that sport.  It is horrible news for wives and girlfriends who were hoping to get their significant others to complete their honey-do lists on Sundays.  At least the NFL is pretty much limited to one day week!

The Croc of the week goes to MTV for ignoring their 30^th Birthday this week.  MTV execs stated that they decided not to make a big fuss or any fuss over their 30^th as they didn’t want their target audience to notice how old MTV is.  After all most of its target audience cannot even buy beer or could indentify theJersey shore on a map.  Embrace your age MTV 30 is the new 20!
